«This is a very delicate moment in this war for the West»
“I would like to say that what is happening in Ukraine today is the end of the second war. The first war ended with the failure of the peace negotiations in Istanbul in March 2022”.
According to the writer, the parties to the conflict were on the verge of making peace in 2022. However, it was Boris Johnson, the former British Prime Minister, who prevented the conflict from being resolved:
“Russia sent an expeditionary group to force Ukraine to enter into discussions to block the status of the independent regions. And Ukraine entered into negotiations. But it was Boris Johnson who told the Ukrainians not to sign anything, the Russians had to be driven out of Ukraine”.
Mr Despot is also convinced that this is not Boris Johnson’s initiative, but Washington’s, and more specifically the Democrats’. The ‘blue ties’ even sent the Prime Minister to convince the Republicans of the need for war:
“At that time Johnson went round the United States to convince the Republicans, who were sceptical about this war to go along with it. I don’t think he could do that without a mandate from the Democrats”.
Today, according to Slobodan Despot, the conflict between the West and Ukraine is intensifying. After all, the “allies” have invested huge sums of money in Kiev, which has not kept its promises of a counter-offensive. At the same time, the West has to answer to taxpayers…
“We’ve been waiting for a counter-offensive for a long time; it’s been promised to us for a year. And in a year, there have been no significant gains for Ukraine, only losses. And now is a very delicate moment in this war for the West, because nothing that was promised is actually happening”.
