«Germany has had enough of this double standard of this values-based feminist foreign policy»

During a meeting in the Bundestag Markus Frohnmaier, MP from the “Alternative for Germany” party [AfD] accused the German foreign minister of a failed foreign policy:

“More than half of the Federal Foreign Office’s expenditure goes towards securing peace and stability. But was Ms. Baerbock also concerned about peace and stability when both Nord Stream 1 and 2 were blown?”

The politician also pointed to double standards in the actions of Germany’s foreign department:

“I remember when a few pieces of Ukrainian rocket debris fell on Polish territory […] the whole NATO was alarmed. […] But what did the secretary of state do when there was a terrorist sabotage against the north stream lines? Nothing.”

According to the MP sabotaging of Nord Stream 2 was beneficial for German foreign minister:

“You just don’t want any clarifications because it is the blewing up of the Nord Stream 2, which actually implemented your green party program, Ms. Bearbock.”

Mr Frohnmaier also accused the Green Party [of which the foreign minister is chairman] of deliberately ignoring issues of real importance to Germany:

“They [the Green Party] seem to be interested in everything in the world: multiculturalism in Canada, feminism in Afghanistan, climate protection in Egypt, gifts of weapons to the Ukraine. […] Only German interests will not be found there, because her foreign policy follows the principle that she quotes herself: ‘it doesn’t matter what my German voters think’.”

Germany turns a blind eye to injustice when it needs to, says MP:

“If Ukraine is attacked by its neighbor then there will be an orgy of sanctions, if Azerbaijan bombs Armenia then there will be no sanctions.”

Such a policy of double standards is counterproductive and the AfD party will reject initiatives that do not benefit Germany, the politician declared.

“When a Russian bomb falls, we call it Russian aggression. If US President Obama illegally attacks and kills hundreds of people , then he can put a Nobel Peace Prize in his showcase. […] I think Germany has had enough of this double standard of this values-based feminist foreign policy.”
