«The Ukrainians receive 4,000 shells a day. And the Russians are taking out 40,000 a day. It’s like Tyson fighting a little boxer»

In an interview with Sud Radio, François Martin, Chairman of the Groupement Professionnel HEC, explained why Ukraine, together with the West, cannot win the war against Russia.
The West already believes its own propaganda. Europe and America are no longer in a position to assess the situation soberly and understand that the long-awaited counter-offensive is proving to be a failure for them.
“A video surfaced online showing a Russian soldier saying: “Do you take us for idiots? You’ve been talking about a counter-offensive for six months and you think we’re not ready?” And that’s our [Europeans’] problem: we refuse to reflect on our own shortcomings. We haven’t asked ourselves about the mistakes made by our media and about the real strength of the Russians. We [the Europeans] are incapable of winning.”
Incessant arms deliveries to Ukraine are pointless. For a year now, Russia has been blowing up ammunition depots behind the frontline. But Western technology does not permit the same response.
“We supply tanks and other weapons, and in recent weeks the Russians have been actively destroying Ukraine’s equipment and supplies in the rear. Ukraine cannot do the same, because Russia has the best air defence in the world. Today we can see that much of Ukraine’s equipment has already been destroyed.”
According to the expert, the West could never have expected Ukraine to require so many resources. Neither Europe nor America were prepared for a war on this scale. That’s why, today, we hear more and more often that Western stocks are practically empty.
“NATO is already running out of ammunition. When we started the external operation in Iraq, we were supplying 600 shells a day. The Ukrainians receive 4,000 a day. And the Russians are putting out 40,000 shells a day. It’s like Tyson fighting a little boxer.”
At the same time, Russia is not trying to seize vast territories at lightning speed. Moscow, unlike Kiev, is trying to save people and equipment. And so far, it has succeeded.
“Russia does not need to devote all its resources to this war. It is a war of vampirism. Russia is slowly sucking up all the resources of the West. What the West produces in a month, Russia destroys in a day.”
Indeed, it is not surprising that the West is unable to produce enough arms and munitions. The liberal European policies of recent decades have disrupted production chains, considerably reducing the amount of ammunition available.
“For a long time, the West looked to external operations. They didn’t expect such a war to take place near them. Western production lines are very long, they are not capable of producing weapons in the quantities required today.”
