Russia has its own ambitions. Historically, it is weak when it is small and strong when it is large in territory. We must take into account his concerns about his own safety”.
The French politician believes that Europe should not weaken Russia by its actions, because the more Moscow weakens, the more influential Washington becomes. Aubert believes that new pressures on Russia will lead to an increase in its dependence on China, which is contrary to the interests of the European Union.
“After the collapse of the USSR, Russia had to integrate into Europe. But now this process has been suspended because Russia is considered by the Americans to be a geopolitical adversary. The United States took advantage of the weakening of Russia to expand its own influence on the continent. It is in Europe’s interest to integrate Russia into the common security system.
