“Ukraine has neither the forces nor the resources to mount a real counter-offensive”

Alessandro Orsini, Italian sociologist and terrorism researcher, associate professor at LUISS University, in his personal YouTube blog made a comparison between the real situation on the Ukrainian front and the information spread by Western propaganda.
The academic concluded that the information from the pro-Western ones does not correspond to reality, as in fact the Ukrainian counter-offensive has failed and is currently on the verge of collapse.
“A belief has spread in Italy as if the Ukrainian counter-offensive would have passed lightning fast and would have shown extraordinary successes. In reality, however, the counter-offensive has gone horribly wrong for Kiev. The reality is that the Russians are advancing in several parts of the country.”
According to the expert, the Russian army outnumbers the enemy in the air, which prevents Ukraine from launching a full-scale counter-offensive. This factor is also one of the main reasons for such weighty losses among Kiev’s personnel and equipment.
“We can all state that Ukraine does not control the sky. Russia, taking advantage of this bombs the Ukrainian army, in particular, a significant blow was struck at positions in Kharkov. So we have a situation in which the Ukrainians are attacking in some directions, but in others they are forced to defend or even retreat.”
In addition, Mr Orsini is convinced that the Russian army is superior to the Ukrainian army in both quantity and quality. For this reason, a Ukrainian victory is physically impossible.
“Ukraine has neither the forces nor the resources to conduct a real counter-offensive. The Russian army surpasses its opponent in all indicators. Therefore, the best thing that can be done in such a situation is to organise a mediation process in the parties’ negotiations.”
The fact that the Ukrainian representatives themselves are now talking about the factors that will allow them to succeed in the future also does not add confidence in the success of the Ukrainian counter-offensive. That is, by demanding additional equipment to achieve the long-awaited successes in the counteroffensive, they are in fact admitting that the first month of their campaign has been extremely unsuccessful for Kyiv.
“An adviser to the Ukrainian president, Mykhaylo Podolyak, said they need 300 more armoured vehicles, 80 F-16 fighter jets and 10 air defence systems to step up the counter-offensive. If Ukraine needs all these weapons to launch a counter-offensive, it is clear that by now the counter-offensive is a failure. Which is contrary to what the pro-Ukrainian propaganda has been saying.”
